Role summary

BetJets has launched as a subsidiary of the 4Racing brand, aiming to become one of South Africa’s premier online sports betting and casino entertainment providers. BetJets will provide innovative gaming solutions, traditional horse racing products and a superior sports betting offering, all backed up by five-star customer service.

We operate under the jurisdiction of the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board and uphold the principles of the National Responsible Gambling Programme, guaranteeing our adherence to stringent regulations to ensure a positive wagering experience.

The Sportsbook Trader at BetJets will be responsible for managing and optimizing the Sports betting trading desk. This role involves ensuring the efficiency of operations and risk management related to the BetJets Sportsbook. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our product offering, analyzing performance metrics, and safeguarding the integrity of our betting operations.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of sport, horse racing and casino betting markets.
• Proficiency in data analysis and risk management.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Minimum 3 years Sportsbook Trading experience.

Daily Responsibilities

• Sportsbook Desk Management: Oversee the horse racing trading desk during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth and effective operations.
• Risk Management: Monitor and optimize risk management processes, suggesting improvements to enhance the overall trading performance.
• Product Enhancement: Identify weaknesses in the Sports, Horse Racing and Casino product frontend and collaborate with relevant teams to implement improvements.
• Data Analysis: Analyze complex data sets to identify key factors that can improve Sportsbook KPIs and overall trading outcomes.
• Customer Support: Provide expert support to the Customer Service team on all aspects related to betting markets. 
• Event Management: Compile and manage manualSportsbook events when necessary, ensuring accurate and timely results.
• Odds Management: Monitor and adjust odds movements based on the horse racing book’s position and market volatility.
• Suspicious Activity Monitoring: Identify and investigate suspicious betting patterns, including bonus abuse, late bets, arbitrage, and negative margin accounts.
• Player Profiling: Apply restrictions to online punters where necessary, including setting limits, deactivations, and bonus removals.
• Platform Development: Collaborate with the development team to improve trading platform functionality.
• Performance Reporting: Create, maintain, and analyze specific reports to identify and mitigate low-margin performance.
• Rota Management: Oversee and manage the monthly rota for the trading team.
