Role summary:
We are looking for an Operations Associate to join our team in South Africa. The role will be remote for now but will involve frequent travel across the country to onboard and engage riders, as well as coordinate directly with KFC stores. The exact city location is not yet finalized.
This role will manage daily operations with third-party delivery partners, oversee onboarding and engagement of rider networks, and act as a direct point of contact for enterprise customers. We are prioritizing candidates with direct QSR or last-mile delivery experience (e.g., KFC, Uber, Glovo, Mr D) to reduce the learning curve and ensure immediate impact.
Daily Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Manage relationships with delivery partners and onboard new riders.
- Lead daily operations, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Coordinate with KFC stores to maintain smooth delivery operations.
- Monitor key performance metrics and optimize resource allocation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce operational costs.
Customer & Partner Relationship Management
- Seamlessly onboard new enterprise customers and ensure adoption of our services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key operators and stakeholders.
- Leverage industry knowledge and networks to strengthen partnerships.
Product Knowledge & Advocacy
- Maintain a deep understanding of our services to provide top-tier support to partners.
- Gather feedback from riders and stores to inform improvements in operations.
Customer Success Strategies
- Implement strategies to enhance rider engagement, operational efficiency, and partner satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities to optimize service delivery and reduce churn.
Documentation & Training
- Keep accurate records of partner interactions, rider onboarding, and store operations.
- Conduct training and workshops to ensure consistent understanding and adoption of processes.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years in operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
- 2+ years experience in last-mile delivery or QSR operations (e.g., KFC, Uber, Glovo, Mr D).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to manage and engage rider networks or courier fleets.
- Analytical and strategic thinker, with problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, able to work remotely, and travel frequently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- Experience with CRM and operational reporting systems is a plus.
